About OICS

The OICS Organising Committee is excited to welcome you to join us at the picturesque Adelaide Oval for the Obstetric Intensive Care Symposium in February 2018.

In 2016 the first ever 2 day Obstetric Intensive Care Symposium covered a wide range of contemporary topics on the high-risk Obstetric patient. The high quality program delivered by Internationally recognized speakers from Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Obstetrics, Midwifery and Nursing was overwhelmingly well received by the attendees. Following the success of this year, we have decided to expand the program for the Symposium in 2018. There was overwhelming response to the breakfast workshops and they will be continued.

The OICS 2018 promises to present a fantastic mix of lectures and round table discussions with International and National experts. The Symposium will include a range of practical workshops including emergency Obstetric Ultrasound, Management of the difficult Obstetric airway, Obstetric Critical Care Simulation, surgical and non-surgical management of severe PPH. It will be of vital interest to Intensive Care Specialists, Obstetricians, Obstetric Trainers, Anaesthetists, Emergency Physicians, ICU Trainees, GPs caring for Obstetric patients, Intensive Care Nurses, Nurses, Midwives and Paramedics who may look after critically ill Obstetric patients.

The goal of the Symposium is two-fold, to create a forum whereby the clinical teams currently involved in the care of the Critically Ill Obstetric patient can meet and share experiences and, to foster a collaborative effort to promote education and research in this select population of patients.
